Ten year old boy strangles mate on football pitch in Lagos

Ten years old boy identified as Evbota Ezekiel, has allegedly strangled his age mate, Israel Ogunleye, in March 28, during an argument in Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

According to the police, the father of the deceased reported that his son was playing football with some boys at Oluwole Street, Powerline in Ejigbo where his mother’s shop is situated.

The bereaved father told the police that the boys had an argument and in the process,  Emmanuel allegedly held his son by the neck and strangled him until he died.

Police authorities immediately moved to the scene of the incident where they found the boy’s body and immediately moved it to the General Hospital Isolo where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival. The body was then transferred to the mortuary where a post-mortem is expected to be done.

Confirming the incident to LIB, the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the matter is currently being investigated.
