Breaking! Popular Nollywood Actor, Jnr Pope’s Lifeless Body Discovered In River

Again, calamity has struck in the Nollywood industry, as a popular Actor, Junior Pope died today, in a boat on his way to a movie location.

According to a filmmaker Sam Olatunji who shared this in his social media handle, Pope’s lifeless body was found in the water alongside three others.

Popular Nigerian actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, a.k.a Jnr Pope, has died today, April 10 at the age of 39.

According to information gathered, four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River in Anambra State on their way to a movie location.

After rigorous searching, their bodies were recovered lifeless.

His colleagues have taken to different social media platforms to mourn his shocking death.

The father of three had in 2021 escaped death during a fire incident which regrettably destroyed his house.

The actor, who said he was so thankful to God for saving his entire family, took to his Instagram handle to show appreciation to God.

He said his house went up in flames while the family was sleeping but God intervened, adding that he was safe and no one sustained any injury.

In 2006, Jnr Pope joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and started attending movie auditions and acting as a minor character in movies.

He usually played the role of a bodyguard, palace attendant, and servant in movies.

In 2007, Pope rose to fame after acting in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Secret Adventures a movie directed by Tchidi Chikere.

He has acted in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include: “Secret Adventures”, “Mad sex”, “Bitter Generation”, “Vengeance of Bullet”, “The Cat”, “The Generals”, “Wrong Initiation” among others.

In 2010, he won the award for Nollywood Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Entertainment Factory Awards.

He is known for acting in criminal, villain, armed robber, militant and hitman roles in movies alongside Emma Ehumadu, Sylvester Madu, Zubby Michael, Jim Iyke, Alaso Wariboko, Gentle Jack, Hanks Anuku, Jerry Amilo.

Other awards he has won include Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actor of the Year at the Africa Movie Academy Awards among others.
