Husband explains how wife baby die, as doctors perform CS using YouTube videos

“I saw doctors using phones to watch YouTube for surgery, I lost my wife, baby”, were the agonizing cries of a certain man simply identified as Mr. Onyekachi Eze whom Doctors used YouTube surgery tutorials to perform a Cesarean Section (CS) on his wife.

A pregnant woman in Imo State tragically lost her life alongside her baby as doctors allegedly used a YouTube tutorial to perform a Cesarean Section (CS).

The awful incident, according to reports, resulted in the unfortunate death of his pregnant wife and their baby.

The horrible incident happened at Lebechi Hospital in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, and was disclosed in a video on TVC News.

The woman’s husband, Onyekachi Eze, in company with Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop, reported the case to the Imo Police Command on Tuesday.

Recounting the heartbreaking incident, the husband said, “I brought my wife to the hospital when she was in labour, and the doctor said she needed surgery because she was bleeding. While in the operating room, I saw them using their phones to watch a YouTube video on how to perform the surgery. Sadly, I lost both my wife and baby during the process.”

Subsequent, Stanley posted an update showing the arrest of the hospital owner, while the doctors involved in the surgery reportedly fled. In a social media post, he wrote, “The owner of the hospital where doctors used YouTube to perform surgery has been arrested. Nurses were detained, but the doctors who carried out the surgery have fled. Authorities are working to locate them.”

The case has caused widespread outrage, drawing attention to the rising concerns about the state of healthcare in Nigeria. The police have promised a full investigation, and efforts are being made to find the doctors who fled the scene.

This tragic event highlights the urgent need for stricter regulation and oversight in Nigeria’s healthcare system, ensuring that medical professionals uphold the highest standards of care and safety.
