Shock in Osogbo as Woman Is Found Dead in Church With Wrist Severed

Residents of Obelewo, Osogbo, Osun State, have been left shocked after an unidentified woman was found dead inside a church premises with her left wrist reportedly severed. Police detectives have since launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the disturbing killing.

An unidentified woman was found dead inside a church premises in Obelewo, Osogbo, Osun State, with her left wrist reportedly severed and taken away. The Nigeria Police Force said detectives had begun investigating the killing, while the victim’s corpse was deposited at a hospital mortuary for autopsy. Her identity and the motive for the killing remain unknown.

An unidentified woman has been found dead inside a church premises in the Obelewo area of Osogbo, Osun State, with her left wrist reportedly cut off.

The disturbing discovery has sparked concern in the community as the police work to establish the identity of the deceased and determine what led to her death.

The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to the police, detectives visited the scene after the woman’s body was discovered.

Preliminary investigations reportedly showed that the woman had been slaughtered. Her left wrist was also severed and allegedly taken away by unknown persons.

The police said the motive behind the killing remains unclear. Similarly, the circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be fully established.

The FPRO said, “The investigations revealed that the deceased was slaughtered and her left wrist severed and taken away by unknown persons.”

Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to identify the deceased and establish how she was killed.

The police also disclosed that the corpse was taken to a hospital mortuary for an autopsy as part of efforts to gather more evidence.

“The corpse was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy,” Iniedu stated.

Furthermore, the State Command Investigation Department has commenced a full investigation into the incident.

The police are expected to determine the motive for the killing, identify the victim and establish those responsible for the gruesome act.

As the investigation continues, residents are awaiting further updates from the authorities.
