Commotion in Abia as Man Allegedly Stabs Only Son to Death Over Palm Fruit
A dispute over palm fruit has reportedly ended in tragedy in Abia State, after a young man identified as Chibunna was allegedly stabbed to death in Obingwa Local Government Area.
A young man identified as Chibunna has reportedly been stabbed to death over a palm fruit dispute in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State. The alleged suspect, Solomon Friday, is said to have fled the community and was reportedly declared wanted by the police. However, the police had not officially confirmed the killing as of the time of filing this report.
A young man identified as Chibunna, an only son of his parents, has reportedly been stabbed to death over a dispute involving palm fruit in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The alleged suspect, identified as Solomon Friday, has reportedly fled the community after he was declared wanted by the police in connection with the killing.

According to reports, the incident occurred following a disagreement over palm fruit. Chibunna was allegedly stabbed during the dispute and later died from his injuries.
As of the time of filing this report, the police had yet to officially confirm the killing.
However, a Facebook user, Ogochukwu Nwaokeoma, claimed in a post on Monday, August 17, 2026, that the incident occurred and that the police had declared Solomon Friday wanted.
Following the incident, some residents from Ekwereazu, the deceased’s village, reportedly went to Umunkiri and burnt down a building in the community.
“The police have now reached out and confirmed that Solomon Friday is wanted,” Nwaokeoma wrote.

He also appealed to members of the public to assist with information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
“Please help us share this information. If you have any information about his whereabouts, kindly contact this number 08168792581 and do not confront him yourself,” he added.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged killing remain unclear, while the police are expected to provide an official account of the incident.
Members of the public are advised not to confront the suspect if they sight him but should instead alert the appropriate security authorities.
