Abia North: Sen Orji Kalu kick-starts solar powered street lights-up projects in communities (See Full List)

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has facilitated the provision and installation of solar powered street lights-up project across his constituency.

 

Kalu, who is the senator representing Abia North senatorial district disclosed this in a statement signed by his media office.

 

Kalu said the installation of the street lights up projects would commenced across the five Local Government Areas of the district.

 

He said that the project is meant to increase social and economic activities in various benefiting communities.

 

The former Abia state governor urged community leaders and residents of the various communities to take ownership of the lights and other government infrastructure to prevent vandalism.

 

He said that the project and other numerous ones he had facilitated were meant to enhance the quality of lives of the people, and should not be destroyed.

The benefitting communities include:

Umunneochi LGA (Ngodo, Umuaku, Leru town, Umuchieze, Nneato); Isuikwuato

(Akara Junction, Umuobiala,

Acha town, Umuasua Town, Ovim Town);

Bende LGA (Ndiwo, Ozuitem, Okporoenyi,

Nkpa, Okoko item).

 

Others are Ohafia (Amaekpu, Elughu, Abriba, Okon Aku, Abia);

Arochukwu (Aro Town, Ndi Oji Abam, Ihechiowa, Ututu, Obi Isu, Ike Isu).
