2027: DLA Candidate Aliuna Vows to Tackle Poverty, Unemployment in Ebonyi/Ohaukwu

As poverty, unemployment and poor infrastructure continue to weigh heavily on many families, the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Aliuna Godwin, says a new approach to representation is needed ahead of the 2027 election.

Aliuna Godwin, the DLA candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, has promised to tackle poverty and unemployment while pushing for better roads, youth empowerment and measures to prevent communal clashes if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.

ABAKALIKI, Ebonyi State — The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) candidate for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Aliuna Godwin, has promised to tackle poverty, unemployment, poor road networks and communal clashes if elected to the House of Representatives in the 2027 general election.

Aliuna made the pledge while speaking with newsmen in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

He expressed concern over the level of hardship and poverty confronting residents of the constituency, saying urgent steps were needed to improve their living conditions.

According to him, the challenges facing the people can be addressed through purposeful representation, effective policies and development programmes.

Aliuna said his decision to contest the House of Representatives seat was driven by his desire to provide effective representation and attract meaningful development to the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.

He urged voters and other stakeholders to carefully assess the competence, character, integrity and track record of candidates ahead of the 2027 election.

The DLA candidate said the people should elect a representative who is accessible and genuinely committed to public service.

He cautioned voters against supporting candidates whose major interest is personal enrichment rather than the welfare of their constituents.

Aliuna Promises Job Creation, Youth Empowerment

A major part of Aliuna’s agenda, he said, would be the creation of opportunities for young people.

He expressed confidence that, if elected, an aggressive job-creation programme would be pursued to reduce unemployment in the constituency.

According to him, graduates and other qualified youths would be supported through opportunities for meaningful employment, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

He also stressed the need to improve road infrastructure across the constituency.

Aliuna noted that good roads are vital to economic growth because they make it easier for people to move, allow farmers to transport their produce and improve access to markets.

DLA Candidate Calls for Peaceful 2027 Campaign

Beyond economic development, Aliuna promised to support efforts to prevent and resolve communal conflicts.

He said peace and security were essential for attracting investment and creating an environment where sustainable development could take place.

The candidate also appealed to politicians contesting elective positions in Ebonyi State to conduct their campaigns with civility.

He urged candidates and their supporters to focus on issues affecting the people instead of engaging in politics of bitterness, violence and character assassination.

According to him, political hostility could undermine the peace and development of the state.

Aliuna further advised the electorate not to vote solely because of political party affiliation.

Instead, he urged voters to examine each candidate’s capacity, competence, character and ability to deliver tangible dividends of democracy.

He maintained that political office should be regarded as an opportunity to serve the people and improve their welfare.

The DLA candidate expressed optimism that the support of the people of Ebonyi/Ohaukwu would usher in what he described as a new era of effective representation, economic empowerment and infrastructural development if he is elected in 2027.
