As the February 25 election draws near, Traditional Rulers of Ibeku kingdom, in Umuahia North have unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Dr. Alex Otti and High Chief Obi Aguocha, candidates of Labour Party for governorship race and Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency of Abia State.

The royal fathers who gave their blessings to the candidates during
a joint seating on Tuesday 24 January, 2023 at the palace of HRM, Eze Iheanyichukwu Ezeigbo (Ochima) described the duo of Otti and Aguocha as “typical” Igbo men who would at every point in time, uphold the dignity of the tradition of the land.Screenshot 2023 01 31 15 18 55 85 1

The traditional rulers, who expressed unwavering confidence in the effective representation which would be ushered in by Ugwumabiri Umuahia and former President-general of Ohuhu Development Union, maintained that they would support the him unalloyedly inspite of not being of the Ibeku extraction.

They wailed that the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia and indeed the entire State, had suffered severely in the hands of their leaders but expressed their beliefs in the Labour Party’s candidates.IMG 20230131 235536

“It’s true he is from Ohuhu yet he is our son; pass a decree over his head.

“We accept you with our whole heart; you both shall work for our people; as you both are typical Igbo men, we urge you to work diligently for the State, because we have suffered severely”

Also, the traditional rulers threw their weights behind Hon. Austin Mmeregini and Hon. Chinasa Abiola, LP’s House of Assembly candidates for Umuahia East and Umuahia Central, respectively.
