“Your visit has opened doors of relationships” –  Ikpeazu tells Kalu. Urges others to emulate Kalu

Govenor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has described the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as an elder statesman.

Ikpeazu while receiving the former Abia state governor at his Umuobiakwa residence commended Kalu for his patriotism and selfless service to the nation.

According to the governor, Kalu’s visit has opened doors of association and relationship.

In his words: “The Distinguished Senator, who was one of the former governors of Abia state and the number four Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Permit me to first of all thank you for your private time to come, especially in this new year. Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu is an elder statesman, who has worked through the lines of public service. 

“I am proud that you are one of my citizens, as an Abian, and I have taken note of your advice and your suggestions.

“You had certain position as governor before, so you occupy a good position as to advise and I want others to emulate your stands.

“You have opened doors of associations and relationships. 

“I want to thank you most specially . Let me say that we will not disappoint you.”

The governor promised to pay attention to the dilapidated Umuahia-Uzoakoli-Alayi-Igbere-Ohafia road which the Senate Chief Whip appealed to the governor to fix.

“We have given adequate consideration to the plight and fate of our kinsmen and brothers who use the Uzuakoli – Umuahia road and I have taken their need into consideration and about what we can do to see that.

“I want to assure you that I am prepared to do my best and submit myself to the judgement of leading Abia State knowing that this will not get dried neither could they be bought or sold.

“Abia will be stronger with the support of people like you. We don’t have any other state, those who think all they can do is to be apart from this state,” the governor said.
