Speaking in a video shared by Symfoni TV, Mary’s father, Tanko Habila Wisdom, said the family’s greatest concern is to bury their daughter peacefully rather than continue with investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to him, the family has accepted Mary’s passing and has chosen not to pursue allegations against any individual or group. Instead, they believe it is time to mourn their daughter and allow her to rest in peace.

Furthermore, Wisdom stated that the family does not support the proposal for an autopsy. He stressed that they are not accusing anyone of being responsible for Mary’s death, adding that death can occur unexpectedly.

In his words:

“We need the body of our daughter. We don’t want that autopsy they are talking about. I am not suspecting anybody because death can occur even as we are standing here. One can fall here now and die. So, we are not suspecting anybody. It has happened.”

He added that the family remains firm in its position and only wants Mary’s remains released so they can carry out her burial according to their customs and wishes.

Meanwhile, the father’s emotional appeal has generated widespread reactions on social media. Many Nigerians have expressed sympathy for the grieving family and urged the authorities to treat the matter with compassion while considering the family’s wishes.
