The matron reportedly proceeded to the hostel area, where the student was found unresponsive.

Preliminary observations at the scene led investigators to suspect that the student may have fallen from the hostel building. However, the police said the circumstances surrounding her death were still being investigated.

Police sources further disclosed that preliminary findings indicated that Alayande had allegedly left two notes. One was reportedly addressed to her stepfather, while the other was addressed to her roommate.

Following the report, detectives from the Victoria Island Police Division visited the hostel. They documented the scene and commenced preliminary investigations.

The student’s remains were subsequently evacuated to the Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba, Lagos, where they were deposited for preservation and autopsy.
