Aba, Abia State, was thrown into shock after an angry mob reportedly killed a man accused of throwing his children from a two-storey building during a domestic dispute, leaving one child dead and another severely injured.

A man was reportedly killed by an angry mob in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, after he was accused of throwing his children from a two-storey building during a domestic dispute. One child reportedly died, another was injured, and the man was later attacked and killed while allegedly trying to flee the scene.

ABA, ABIA — An angry mob has reportedly killed a man in Aba, Abia State, after he was accused of throwing his children from the top floor of a two-storey building during a domestic dispute.

The incident reportedly occurred earlier in the week at Umuobe Phase II, Ovom, in the Ogbor Hill area of Aba.

The man, whose identity could not be immediately ascertained, was said to be in his early 40s. He reportedly hailed from a community in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state but was residing in Aba.

According to sources, the incident began . the man had a heated argument with his wife, who was nursing their child.

The quarrel reportedly escalated into a serious altercation. During the argument, the man was said to have told his wife that he would do something she would “never forget in her life.”

As the situation worsened, their two children reportedly ran towards the balcony of the apartment on the top floor of the building.

The man allegedly followed them and picked up one of the children before throwing the child from the building.

He was then said to have grabbed the second child and also thrown the child down.

According to the sources, the man later attempted to take a third child from his wife and throw the child from the building. However, the woman reportedly resisted and prevented him from doing so.

When he could not take the child from his wife, the man reportedly jumped from the building himself and sustained injuries.

He subsequently got up and allegedly attempted to flee from the scene.

However, an angry mob had gathered following the incident. The man was reportedly attacked and killed by the mob.

Meanwhile, one of the children was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the injured child was said to have received medical attention.

The deceased child and the man were subsequently taken to a mortuary.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, while the identities of the man and the deceased child had not been officially released as of the time of filing this report.

Authorities are expected to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths and the alleged attack on the man.
