Ikwuano State Constituency: APP Candidate, Anyaragbu Meets With
Eze Oloko, HRM Eleribe

The Action People’s Party, (APP) for Ikwuano State Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Wisdom Lan Anyaragbu has solicited the unalloyed support of Oloko Council of Traditional Rulers, reiterating his vision to restore the lost dignity of the Council when elected into office.

Hon. Anyaragbu who restated his unflinching commitment towards realising a greater and prosperous Ikwuano, insisted that his aim of joining the race was incited by the glaring agonies of the people of the local government.

The House of Assembly hopeful stated this during a courtesy visit to
HRM EZE C.I Eleribe, Okike 1 Of Obuohia Okike, Autonomous Community, the Chairman Oloko Council Of Traditional Rulers, Ikwuano, in Umuahia, the State’s capital.

He decried the protracted, deplorable state of the major roads in the Council, which he regretted had crippled busines activities of the people, whom he reminded were majorly farmers.

“Over the years, our people have suffered severe loss in their agricultural busines transactions and this is as a result of bad road network. I know that we are used to hearing politicians coming out to campaign for support, using road construction and making mouthwatering promises. But, in the end, the reverse becomes the case as they would stay back in their comfort zones not remembering their pledges to the people.

“Things are not going to remain the same for us in Ikwuano rather it’s going to be a new dawn. We all must be held accountable and quit this recurrent attitude of using our people to satisfy our selfish desires, without emotions towards them. Our people who are basically cash crops farmers are the ones suffering this height of wickedness and we are saying enough is enough to the pains of our people.”

Emotional saddled Anyaragbu explained that his emergence as a candidate was not borne out of his quest for power but a burning desire to ameliorate the penury as suffered by the people and at the same time, provide a lasting solution to the retrogressive condition of the Council.

Also, he wailed that most of the youths had as a result of hunger strike, suddenly attained old age with the symptoms of same conspicuously written on their faces.

In his words:
“It hurts really that the Council has been in shambles and has suffered backwardness for years. And I’m not coming because I’m hungry for power or wealth rather, because I can no longer sit and watch my people constantly suffer in the hands of those who feel little or less about their pains. I came home and realise that hunger and poverty has turned so many of our youths to old mean and women.”

Anyaragbu who pleaded for the unalloyed support of kings of the land, also recounted that “based on equity and fairness, it is also our turn to represent our people in the State House. Although I’m not going there because it’s the turn of Oboro but because we urgently need government’s presence and I am that credible candidate and when I emerge, we shall build Ikwuano.”
