Ikoh Accepts APC Primary Defeat, Urges Supporters To Embrace Sportsmanship, Unity In Abia

His call for sportsmanship and loyalty signals a new phase of political engagement beyond the primary race.
Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh has accepted the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary process in Abia State, urging his supporters to embrace sportsmanship, unity and loyalty to the party despite not securing the governorship ticket. Ikoh also congratulated the winners and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh accepted defeat after the APC Abia governorship primary election and called on his supporters to remain united, loyal and committed to the party’s progress. He urged members of his movement to demonstrate sportsmanship while congratulating those who emerged victorious.
Abia-Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh (Ozurumba), the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Abia State, has accepted the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election/selection process, calling on his supporters to remain united and committed to the party’s progress.
Ikoh, in a statement titled “Official Statement of Appreciation, Renewed Assurance, and Call for Unity,” expressed gratitude to members of the Ozurumba Movement, Harmony Progressive Movement, Ikoh for Governor, Abia Elders for Mr. President, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, ward and local government coordinators, youth and women leaders, stakeholders, party faithful, and residents of Abia State for their support, prayers and sacrifices throughout the political journey.
While acknowledging that he did not emerge as the party’s governorship candidate, Ikoh urged his supporters not to lose hope, stressing that the outcome of the primary election does not mark the end of their collective mission.
“Although we did not secure our party’s governorship ticket, I urge you not to be discouraged. This is not the end of our journey.
We remain committed to the ideals of good leadership, selfless service, and the progress of Abia State,” Ikoh stated.
The APC chieftain congratulated those who emerged victorious in the party’s primary elections, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, while reaffirming his commitment to supporting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Ikoh further pledged to work with party stakeholders to strengthen APC and contribute towards advancing development in Abia State and Nigeria.
He appealed to his supporters and APC members across the state to put the primary election outcome behind them and focus on building unity within the party.
“Let us remain united and loyal to our great party. Together, we will mobilise support, strengthen our party, and continue working for the development of Abia State and Nigeria,” he added.
The former governorship aspirant thanked his supporters for their loyalty and encouragement, promising to continue serving with humility, integrity and dedication.
Ikoh maintained that the sacrifices made during the political process would yield positive results, expressing confidence in the future of Abia State.
