Hurray, NUC grants Gregory University accreditation for Nursing, others

The joy and happiness of the management of Gregory University, Uturu, Abia State know no bounds, as the institution has secured accreditation for some professional courses, including Nursing, from National University Commission, NUC.

According to a letter from NUC, and directed to the University, the former has the statutory mandate to accredit academic programmes in all Nigerian Universities.

It further read that “pursuant to this mandate and in consonance with the provisions of the current Government approved guidelines, initial accreditation of a new programme is held after the programme has run for two academic sessions following approval for the establishment of the programme.”

Meanwhile, the Chancellor, Gregory University, and a leading Governorship aspirant in Abia State, Prof. Greg Ibe who disclosed this on his social media handle, the feat as achieved is in his bid to ensure that the youths are not denied opportunity to study their choices of programmes in the higher institution.

In his Twitter handle, Prof. Greg wrote:
“In keeping with my quest to ensure the education of every youth our university has secured accreditation from NUC for more programmes including Nursing. Kudos to the management and staff of GUU who worked very hard for this milestone. Indeed A New Abia is in view.
#education”.
