Footage showing the moment operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, broke into the Maitama home of Former Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha has emerged.
In the now-viral video, Okorocha can be seen panicking as the operatives smashed through the ceiling of his home. They also destroyed bullet-proof doors at the entrance of the building.
It can be recalled that early on Tuesday the commission dispatched its men to arrest the serving senator over his involvement in a N2.9 billion fraud.
According to the commission, Okorocha jumped bail and has refused to honour several invitations sent to him.Ð

However, the controversial politician still refused to comply and holed himself up in the house. After 9 hours of discussions, arguments and a protest, the operatives were able to force him out of the house.
He was quickly led to a waiting bus and taken away.
OKOROCHA LAYS DOWN, BEGGING FOR RESCUER DURING SIEGE
Operatives of the Anti-graft commission laid seige on Okorocha’s Maitama home for almost 9 hours as the senator resisted attempts to arrest him.
Famous Reporters gathered that Okorocha was visibly panicking as the operatives smashed through the ceiling of his home. They also destroyed bullet-proof doors at the entrance of the building. prayed to God to come to his rescue.
The ordeal was lived streamed on social media by one of his family members in apparent fear for their lives.

In the video, Okorocha can be seen laying on the floor alongside his son and other family members praying fervently for ‘God’s help’.
Earlier before he was whisked into the waiting bus, Okorocha could be heard pleading; “Please come to my rescue, come and help me my lord, my God”.
“Come and help me my lord and God”.
THE PROTEST
Several women also stormed the residence protesting against the arrest but were soon dispersed by Police officers who deployed Teargas and several gunshots in the air.
Operatives of the anti-corruption agency then proceeded to pull down bullet proof doors to access Okorocha.
However, the women’s protests could not hold water, as the embattled Ex-governor was led into a waiting bus and subsequently driven off amidst a large convoy of Security Operatives.
Meanwhile, a lot of people have come all out to condemn the way and manner in which the EFCC carries out their operations especially when it involves Southeasterners.
They argued that the former Accountant-General who embezzled over 80billion naira was made to suffer such magnitude of humiliation as Okorocha and the likes.
Famous Reporters also gathered that the arrest was triggered by Okorocha’s recent presidential bid, as grapevine wonders of this is the Federal Government’s little way of silencing Southerners, a perceived ploy to present them as incompetent before the prying eyes of the world.
