Edo Govt swears in wife of Abia APP Guber Candidate, Adaeze Kalu As Commissioner
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, will on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, swear in the newly appointed Commissioners as members of the State Executive Council.
In a press release obtained by our correspondent, Lady Adaeze Aguele-Kalu (FCCA, FCA, MBA), the wife of Chief Mascot Uzor-Kalu (KSJI), the 2023 governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia State, is among the new commissioners appointed by Governor Obaseki and subsequently cleared by the Edo State Assembly.
The Edo-state-born technocrat, Mrs. Kalu, is a Master’s degree holder from the prestigious Imperial College, London, and a Fellow of the Institute of Nigerian Chartered Accountants (ICAN).
The EXCO members to be inaugurated alongside her are Ethan Osaze Uzamere, Christopher Osaretin Nehikhare, Monday Osaigbovo, Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe, Isoken Omo, Stephen Ehikhioya Idehenre, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, Patrick Uanseru, and Samuel Alli (Dr.).
Others are Kingsley Uwagbale, Uyi Oduwa Malaka, Joshua Omokhodion, Ojiefoh Enaholo Donatus, and Christabel Omo Ekwu.
The EXCO members were recently cleared by the Edo State House of Assembly after the Governor forwarded their names to the House for screening and confirmation.
In a statement, Secretary to the Edo State Government, Osarodion Ogie, Esq., said the EXCO members will be sworn in by 11 a.m. prompt at the Festival Hall, Government House, Benin City.
He said, “I have been directed to inform you that the swearing-in ceremony of members of the Edo State Executive Council is scheduled as follows: Date, 13 June 2023; Time-11 am; Venue-Festival Hall, Government House.
“You are expected to be seated with your spouse by 10:45 a.m.”
