ECK Foundation Football Tournament Starts Dec. 3 With N1 Million Tag.

Sunday, December 3, 2023 will mark the start of the Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu Foundation Football Competition.

This was revealed at the football Competition Central Organising Committee meeting.

The Chairman of the Central Organising Committee, Chief Kalu Emmanuel, announced that the four Autonomous Communities in Bende Town will play a knockout football competition. He also stated that the gold cup, balls, jerseys, and other materials needed for the competition have been purchased for 1 million naira to be shared among the four teams.

He advised Autonomous community team managers to organise and follow game rules.

The Central Planning Committee decided to play the first match on December 3, the second on December 10, the third on December 17, and the finals on December 30.

All matches will be played at Bende Local Government field by 4pm daily.

On Sunday, November 25, 2023, at 4pm, the football competition will be drawn.

Mr. Andrew Obi (Umuoche), Ifeanyi Ikechukwu (Isiala), Okorie Ogbonna (Umuisiobu), and Chidiebere Ndukwe (Bende Ovu) of the four Autonomous Communities thanked the football competition’s sponsor, Chief Dr. Emeka C Kalu, for his kind gestures and said the competition will help keep the town busy during the holidays. They also assured that their teams would play by the rules.
