ABIA CENTRAL SENATORIAL 2023: INEC Authenticates Rep. Onuigbo’s Candidacy

As 2023 general election draws nearer, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in its current list of candidates of various electable positions, has published Rep. Sam Ifeanyichukwu Onuigbo as the valid candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), for Abia Central Senatorial District.

The Commission, on Thursday Dec 22, 2022, in a release, listed Sam Onuigbo as the All Progressive Congress, (APC) candidate for Abia Central Senatorial district, in the forthcoming general election.

Famousreporters.com reports that the Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, Imo State capital, had on November 30, sacked Hon. Emeka Atuma as the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress,APC, for Abia Central Senatorial race.

The court maintained that Sam Onuigbo was the elected candidate of the APC having participated in the party’s primaries and also purchased the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms.

Meanwhile, earlier, the Court set aside the judgment of the Federal High Court Umuahia, presided over by Justice Evelyn Anyadike, on October 4, which had dismissed the suit as filed by the incumbent Federal Legislator.
