Abia At 32: Remember not former things, we’ve seen glimmers of Hope, Nwaka To Abians

Evang. (Comrd.) Ossy Nwaka has enjoined Abian to forget about their yesterday’s road and focus on the great transformation that is occuring in the State, following the emergence of a new government, led by Governor Alex Otti.

As Abia State celebrates her 32nd Anniversary, the Founder and President of New Era Foundation, (NEF), Comrd. Osinachi Nwaka has reassured Abians that sooner than anticipated, their protracted tears of agonies and sorrows would become tears of joy.

Nwaka, in a statement signed by the coordinator of NEF, Pastor Mike Nwaka, and made available to the Media, yesterday, in Umuahia, the State’s capital, assured that the present administration of Dr. Alex Otti had been ordained by God to wipe away tears from their eyes.

The prominent son of Ikwuano Local Government Council maintained that Abia, just like every other State had a reason to celebrate the presence of a new government, pointing out that God has liberated the State from her age long marginalisations and subjugation, as suffered under previous administrations.

He recounted on the outbreak of screams of joy as was heard in every nook and cranny of the State, in celebration of the arrival of a new government, as well as the huge swarm of birds that swooped and swirled in the sky in utter jubilation, which according to him, caught the attention of many.

“Our celebration began on that fateful day Dr. Alex Otti was announced winner of the election and the reason was that the people had long waited for a Messiah who would hear their cry and save them from penury. Little wonder the shout of jubilations and celebrations that emanated from Abians.

“For the first time, Abians witnessed a huge swarm of birds swooping and swirling in the sky in seemingly immense joy over the envisaged light that had just creeped into the State after 24-years of obvious suffering.

“As Abia turns 32 since its creation, we’re celebrating not because the state has over the years reflected its name, hence God’s own state and number one State in the Federation rather we’re celebrating the change of government; we’re celebrating the transformation that is gradually taking place in Abia. For the first time, there is joy among our civil servants having received their complete salaries at the end of the month.

He, however, wailed that under previous administrations of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, civil servants were severely owed coupled with the slash in their salaries, adding, “but the government of Dr. Alex Otti is here to correct those abnormalities and of course, the results are there. You can go and verify.

“And for the first time also, Abia State has a government that is attracting the presence of several Investors who are eager and willing to come into the State to invest and they are doing this amidst great joy and without doubts.

“This is only possible because a man whom God has chosen is driving the state’s vehicle, a man whom the people have chosen to lead them and it is evident that the Labour Party government is here to transform and revitalise the State”, he added.

He, therefore, enjoined the people to unalloyedly support the government of Otti, to enable him unveil all what it has in stock for the people, while also urging the youths to shun restiveness and all forms of social vices.

Furthermore, Nwaka who attributed insecurity to unemployment among the teeming youths, reassured that Otti’s government was bent on eradicating poverty and hardship through the creation of different channels of employment opportunities.

“So, wipe your tears and cry no more, for help has come”, he said.
