Mrakpor SAN Emerges GOMEP-NG’s Most Outstanding Politician of the Year

From strengthening grassroots political structures to pursuing the Delta governorship, Dr. Peter Adogbejiri Mrakpor, SAN, has earned national recognition for his contributions to political development and democratic participation.

Dr. Peter Adogbejiri Mrakpor, SAN, has emerged as GOMEP-NG’s Most Outstanding Politician of the Year in recognition of his contributions to PDP grassroots development and political mobilisation in Delta State.

ABUJA – The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has named prominent legal practitioner and Delta State governorship aspirant, Dr. Peter Adogbejiri Mrakpor, SAN, as the recipient of its prestigious Most Outstanding Politician of the Year Award.

The recognition followed the recommendations of the Guild’s seven-member Award Planning Committee, constituted by its National President, Comrade Akpovoke Otiti, to assess individuals whose contributions have made significant impacts on Nigeria’s political and democratic landscape.

The committee, chaired by Comrade Success Ochuchemiya, with Prince Clinton Uba as Secretary, said its selection was based on extensive consultations, independent research and a comprehensive assessment of Mrakpor’s political activities and contributions to party development.

According to the committee’s report, Mrakpor played a significant role in strengthening and consolidating the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, particularly through the development of grassroots political structures across wards and units.

It also acknowledged his contributions to the party’s organisational growth before his emergence as one of the leading aspirants seeking the PDP ticket for the 2027 Delta State governorship election.

The committee further highlighted his legal credentials, noting that he is the only Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) currently seeking to become the next governor of Delta State. It described the distinction as an important reflection of his professional accomplishments and public service credentials.

Announcing the recognition, GOMEP-NG’s National Publicity Secretary, Tochukwu Eluwa, said the award was designed to acknowledge Mrakpor’s contributions to political development, democratic participation and grassroots mobilisation in Delta State.

Eluwa explained that the Guild’s annual honours were intended to celebrate individuals whose leadership qualities, dedication to public service and contributions to democratic governance have distinguished them in their respective fields.
