GOMEP-NG Opens 2026 National Awards Nominations

Nigeria is full of individuals making remarkable contributions to their communities and professions. Now, GOMEP-NG is giving the public an opportunity to ensure their efforts receive the recognition they deserve.

GOMEP-NG has opened nominations for its 2026 National Awards, inviting Nigerians to recommend outstanding individuals across business, politics, education, entertainment, technology and public service.

ABUJA – The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has opened nominations for its 2026 National Awards, inviting Nigerians to identify and nominate individuals whose outstanding contributions have positively impacted their professions, institutions and communities.

The National President of GOMEP-NG, Comrade Akpovoke Otiti, announced the commencement of the nomination exercise in Abuja, describing the annual awards as one of the guild’s flagship initiatives for recognising excellence, integrity, innovation and selfless service.

Otiti said the 2026 awards would celebrate distinguished personalities across various sectors, including business, entertainment, leadership, technology, politics, education, public service and community development.

He explained that the initiative was designed to recognise individuals whose achievements have inspired positive change, strengthened institutions and contributed meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.

“Do you know someone making a remarkable impact in your institution or community? This is the time to give such a person the recognition they deserve,” Otiti stated.

The GOMEP-NG President called on organisations, institutions, professional bodies and members of the public to participate in the nomination exercise by recommending individuals whose accomplishments deserve wider recognition.

He also encouraged qualified individuals with verifiable records of achievement to nominate themselves, assuring prospective participants that all submissions would undergo a transparent screening and verification process before the final selection of award recipients.

According to him, the national awards represent an opportunity to celebrate Nigerians whose dedication, vision and commitment to excellence continue to inspire others and contribute to national development.

“The GOMEP-NG National Awards remain a symbol of honour for individuals whose dedication, vision and achievements continue to inspire others and advance the development of Nigeria,” he added.

With nominations now officially open, the guild has urged Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate deserving personalities whose contributions might otherwise go unrecognised.
