3 confirmed dead, many Trapped, as building crumbles in Kano

No fewer than three persons have lost their lives following the collapse of a building in the Kuntau area of Gwale Local Government of Kano State.

According to a source, at least 11 persons were trapped in the collapsed building, whereas two other victims of the incident were rescued from the building.

The rescued victims, the source revealed, have been taken to the hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as at the time of filing the report.

An earth-moving vehicle was spotted in the area as operations to rescue the trapped persons intensified.

The head of search and rescue from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Abdulhadi Tukur, said they were able to rescue two people alive, and the rescue operation would continue until everyone was successfully brought out.
