2022/2023 IGBERE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: My Desire To Encourage Local Talents Among Youths… APP’s Mascot
The 2022/2023 edition of the Igbere community football match sponsored by the Abia state governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, came to an end today with a scintillating match between the Okafia and Amankalu villages and watched live by the former Abia state Chief Staff and his running mate, Prof. Osondu Akoma.
At the finals of the grassroots football competition tagged “champion of champions,” which was held at the Onu-Ibina Secondary School, the Okafia team emerged winners after defeating their Amankalu counterpart by a goal to nothing.
Speaking at the end of the match, Chief Kalu, while giving out cash prizes to the winners and runners-up, said that his gesture was a way of encouraging local talents amongst the youths of his hometown.
