Zone 2 Police Nab Six Armed Robbers in Ogun, Recover Guns, Ammunition, Vehicle

Zone 2 Police Command arrests six armed robbers in Ogun State, recovering guns, ammunition, and a Toyota Camry after an intelligence-led raid. AIG commends residents and urges continued cooperation with law enforcement.

The Zone 2 Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its fight against violent crime with the arrest of six suspected armed robbers who have allegedly been terrorizing residents and dispossessing them of their valuables across Ogun and Lagos States.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), the Zonal Public Relations Officer, CSP Ayuba Tunni Umma, disclosed that:

“Operatives of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters have arrested six suspected armed robbers who specialize in dispossessing innocent citizens of their valuables. The suspects — identified as Shola (m), Pelumi (m), Gbenga (m), Zacchaeus (m), Tunde (m), and Saheed (m) — were apprehended following credible intelligence and swift police action.”

According to CSP Umma, the arrests followed multiple complaints received by the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, which prompted the immediate deployment of operatives from the Dragon Team to investigate, track, and apprehend the culprits.

“On October 5, 2025, at about 2200hrs, the team traced the suspects to their hideout in the Ijebu-Ode area of Ogun State, shortly after a robbery operation,” the statement revealed.
“The well-coordinated raid led to the arrest of all six suspects and the recovery of two locally made pistols, thirty live cartridges, and a wine-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number KNN 383 BU.”

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) commended residents for their vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement, emphasizing the command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and peace across the Zone.

He further urged the public to “remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to the police in our collective effort to build a safer society.”
