Zenith Bank Hosts 2026 International Women’s Day Seminar in Lagos

As conversations around gender equity and inclusive leadership gain renewed global momentum, Zenith Bank Plc is set to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day with a bold call for purposeful action. The leading financial institution will convene influential women and progressive leaders in Lagos for its annual seminar, reinforcing its commitment to empowering women to step forward, claim space, and lead with confidence in today’s evolving business landscape.

Zenith Bank Plc will commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day with a renewed emphasis on intentional investment in women and decisive leadership.

As part of activities to mark the global celebration, the Bank will host its annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Seminar on Monday, March 9, 2026, at The Civic Centre.
Aligned with the global theme, “Give to Gain,” which underscores the principle that sustainable progress is achieved when institutions and individuals invest deliberately in women, Zenith Bank’s 2026 seminar is themed “Take It, You Own It.”

The Bank explained that while institutions must “give” by creating enabling environments and equitable systems, women must also step forward to claim opportunities, own their value, and lead with confidence. The theme, according to the organisers, serves as both an affirmation and a challenge — to embrace opportunity, empower oneself and others, and take ownership of personal and professional growth.

Building on the success of previous editions, including the 2025 seminar themed “Winning On All Fronts,” the 2026 programme is designed to deepen engagement around women’s empowerment, leadership excellence, and sustainable impact.

Over the years, Zenith Bank’s IWD initiatives have brought together accomplished women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging talents for dynamic dialogue and shared learning on gender equity, professional growth, and inclusive opportunity.

More than a commemorative event, the 2026 seminar is positioned as a convergence of influence, insight, and inspiration, gathering accomplished women and forward-thinking leaders across business, governance, creative industries, technology, and social impact sectors.

Speaking ahead of the seminar, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, who will deliver the welcome address, said:

“International Women’s Day is a reminder that progress requires intentionality. ‘Give to Gain’ speaks to the responsibility institutions have to create real opportunities, while our theme ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to step forward boldly and lead. At Zenith Bank, we are deliberate about building environments where women are supported to grow, thrive, and shape outcomes — not only within our institution but across the communities and industries we serve.”

The seminar will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and creative interludes, with focused segments on leadership insight, professional empowerment, wellbeing, and strategic collaboration.

Through its alignment with the global “Give to Gain” theme and its bold seminar focus, “Take It, You Own It,” Zenith Bank reaffirmed its belief that when institutions invest intentionally and women lead confidently, broader ecosystems benefit.
