Zenith Bank Disowns Fake Investment Scheme Using Jim Ovia’s Image
Zenith Bank Plc has issued a public disclaimer distancing itself and its Group Chairman, Jim Ovia, from a fraudulent investment scheme known as “Wealth Bridge.”
In a statement released Tuesday, the bank described circulating videos and images shared via a Facebook handle named “Greece Island” as doctored and entirely fake. The misleading content falsely portrays Ovia endorsing an investment platform that allegedly guarantees up to ₦2 million in weekly returns from a ₦380,000 investment.
The scam also falsely claims endorsement by the Central Bank of Nigeria and redirects unsuspecting victims to a fake “Arise News” webpage containing a registration portal.
Zenith Bank emphasized that neither Dr. Ovia nor the institution has any affiliation with “Wealth Bridge,” “delicious sitee,” “AfriQuantumX,” “Stock market analyst 1,” or any related entities. The bank warned that individuals engaging with such platforms do so at their own risk.
The development highlights growing impersonation and investment scams targeting financial institutions and high-profile executives in Nigeria.
