Viral Claim: Muslim Man ‘Converts to Christianity’ Citing Nnamdi Kanu as His Inspiration

“A viral post on X claims a Muslim man converted to Christianity due to his admiration for IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. Read the full details of the controversial declaration stirring debate across social media.”

A social media post has triggered widespread debate after an X (formerly Twitter) user claimed that a Muslim man renounced Islam and embraced Christianity because of his admiration for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The claim was circulated by an X user identified as Nikky Agnes, who shared what she described as the man’s public declaration of conversion.

According to Agnes, the unnamed man credited Kanu’s “courage,” “teachings,” and “unwavering commitment to truth” as the major influences behind his decision.

In the viral post, the man was quoted as saying:
“Because of Nnamdi Kanu, I am converting to Christianity. Because of him, I finally understand what it means to be a true human being. After Allah, Nnamdi Kanu comes first.”

He allegedly added:
“I have never in my life seen anyone who speaks the truth the way Nnamdi Kanu does — and still ends up in jail simply because he stood by what he believed about Biafra.”

The post has continued to generate mixed reactions online, with many questioning the authenticity of the claim while others argue that it reflects the growing influence of Kanu’s ideology among followers beyond the Southeast.
