One among the Bishops who purportedly endorsed Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was today, caught, while discharging his duty as a plumber.
The suspected impostor was spotted at a city in Nigeria, while discharging his official duty as a plumber to one of his clients.
Unbeknownst to the unsuspecting Plumber turned Bishop that Nigerians, known for their smartness were already on the lookout for all of the “Bishops” who reportedly officially threw their weights behind Tinubu.
This was shared in a viral video, wherein some youths could be seen and heard vividly jeering at him, while nicknaming him Bishop.
It could be recalled that Tinubu’s Muslim/Muslim tickets and the APC’s subsequent presentation of some disguised men as Bishops had elicited a surge of reactions in the nation.
Tinubu’s critics, had asserted that the bishops were hired by the former Lagos State governor’s campaign team to give Christian voters a false impression that his decision to pick a fellow Muslim despite strong objections and national security implications was accepted by the Christian community.
However, Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, said he could not say if those who appeared as clerics at the official presentation of former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as the running mate of the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are truly Catholic priests.
“Well, if they are hired, we didn’t see that,” Sule said while speaking in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
“Maybe the same people who are on the streets today too were hired (referring to anti Muslim-Muslim ticket campaigners). You know, it’s the same thing. Can you compare the calibre of people who are on the street to the calibre of people who have just entered that event to be there?”
