GASSOL, TARABA STATE — An Adamawa Express bus has plunged into the Namnai River in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, with many passengers feared dead after the vehicle attempted to navigate a collapsed bridge.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the bus reportedly lost balance while crossing a damaged section of the Namnai Bridge, causing it to plunge into the river.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the bridge, which has remained in a state of disrepair for over a year, has become a major danger to commuters despite repeated assurances by authorities to rehabilitate it.
