*Urges EFCC to Shutdown PoS Units

The apex Socio-cultural youth organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Ohanaeze Youth Council, has called for immediate arrest of bank Managers and closure of all Point Of Sales, known p as POS in various street in Nigeria.

Speaking to news men at Abakiliki, Ebonyi State capital weekend, the National President of OYC, Comrd. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka stated that Bank Managers sold naira note at a high rate to PoS Operators while in return, PoS operators charge 20% in any withdrawal made at their point.

Speaking amidst indignation, Igboayaka lamented that:

“Various Bank Managers hoard naira notes, and distribute it to PoS operators, politicians and reserve just few naira notes at the ATM machines

Embittered by the agonies of Nigerians, Igboayaka regretted that not only had the change of New Naira Notes destroyed the monetary policy of the system, but also evidently tantamounted to the abuse of the currency and deteriorated the livelihood of the poor masses.

“It’s effecting business transaction and pushing people to untold hardship in addition to the existing economic strangulation Nigerians are facing”.

Comrd. Igboayaka envisaged that with the subsisting hoarding of Naira notes by Bank Managers and POS operators, Nigeria could witness another form of Civil disobedience that would have more negative impacts on the nation than the “EndSars” protest.

“It is necessary that the Department of State Service (DSS) awaken from slumber and put under check the nefarious activities of various Bank Managers warning them that scarcity of naira could incite a threat to Nigeria security.

“Without the immediate arrest of Bank Managers all over the country, another riot may erupt from different parts of the country, thus disrupting the relative peace and stability of the country in a few days from now”, Igboayaka prophesied.
