High/Chief Sir Obi Aguocha is the first-born child of the late Chief (Dr) O. B and Lady Clarice Oroni Aguocha of Umuafiaka Umuohuru, in Okaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu – Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.

He is kind in the heart, full of love for the people of Ikwuano and most important, saddled with the burden to rescue the Igbo extraction from the prolonged marginalization and be the voice ever heard of, for the Igbo nation

A US trained economist and successful businessman whose humble beginnings can be traced to the prestigious Government College Umuahia in the late 70s.

He is currently the Labour Party (LP) House of Representatives Member-elect for represent the Ikwuano-Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency.

The Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency hosts the state capital of our dear State Abia and thus underlines its importance to our visibility as well as a veritable benchmark of our progress and development. He views the opportunity to serve us in this capacity with the utmost sense of humility, service, and dedication to the ideals of equity, fairness, justice, and compassion.

Expressing hope for change in their fortunes and future, hope for a country in which they can live peaceably and securely, conducting their lives and business without fear.

It is his pledged duty to support and promote the legislative agenda(s) of Peter Obi for good governance and production-focused development, improved security, job creation, and employment; efficient and strategic growth initiatives – moving Nigeria from consumption to a production-based economy.

Additionally, he wishes to state, that as the legislator for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, he will make advocacy of constituents his topmost legislative priority, including the recognition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s ideals for equity, justice and fairness to Ndigbo within the context of true federalism and to ensure an immediate political solution that would lead to the ultimate release and freedom for, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Sir Obi Aguocha has worked in several capacities in the recent past, including, Special Adviser in the office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the then late President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and Policy Consultant to the trio of: the then former National Security Adviser (NSA) to President, Goodluck Johnathan, late Lt Gen. Owoye Andrew Azazi, and Rtd. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Kpotum Idris and to former Governor of Imo State, HE. Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha respectively. Sir Aguocha is currently in private business specializing in Real Estate, Commodities distribution and Construction.

Sir. Obi Aguocha ran unsuccessfully, both in 2007 and 2011 for the Abia State Governorship position. He is the immediate past President General of Ohuhu Welfare Union, having also served as the President General of Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Improvement Union.

Sir. Obi Aguocha holds the traditional titles of: Ogwumabiri Umuahia and Udo Ji Agu-Ohuhu, Knight of St. Augustine of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion and is blessed with five children and a grandson.
