Rep’s Committee on Power Inspects Masters Energy Metering Company

The House of Representatives Committee on Power led by it’s Chairman and Member Representing Ika North East and South Federal Constituency of Delta State, Hon Victor Nwokolo says the Committee will do everything within its legislative powers to facilitate a harmonious relationship between the Federal Ministry of Power, Electricity Distribution Companies and the Masters Energy Metering Company.

The Chairman Stated this when he led Members of his Commitee to on -the -spot assessment of Masters Energy Metering Company and a Tour of Masters Industrial City in Onuaku,Uturu Isiukwuato Local Government Area of Abia State on Tuesday.

He commended the President of Masters Energy Group Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah for the massive investment in Abia State and for creating thousands of Jobs for the Youths.

“I won’t say I am surprised with what we are seeing here having known you for over 20years”

“From what we have seen here, we will take it beyond the House Commitee on Power, we relate to the Senate Commitee on Power and the Minister of Power”

“If we already have immediate sources for Meters, then I think Discos will have no choice than to patronize it”he said.

The President of the Masters Energy Group Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah in his speech commended the House Committee On Power for coming to take on the spot assessment of the M E Metering Company.

He said the Company planned to provide 50,000 Jobs for Nigerian People.

“Our intentions is to put 50,000 Nigerians directly under our Employment “

“We have never benefited anything from Government, infact Bank of Industry Told us to bring an Industry in Lagos as a collateral for them to support what we are doing here “

“We want to get the Masters Energy to be part of the development of the Nigerian economy

“Here today we have 2000 workers working in several sectors of the Company”he said.

The Managing Director of the Company Prince Mbah while briefing the House Commitee about the giant strides of the Company said the Company targets to produce 602,16 Meters if it gets the necessary support to boost productivity.

“Our Metering Factory is Situated in the Masters Energy Group Industrial City, This city is probably the largest Production hub in the South East with over ten Companies producing various goods, providing employment to over 3000 People”

“Masters Metering Company which produces Single Phase and Three Phase Prepaid Meters, prepared Meter Production will soon start, while Masters Noodles, Masters Plastics plant, Master Ma Cartons and Dry Mix,Musters Lub, Masters PVC, Masters Soap Plant, Aluminum Plant,and Masters Table Water are all producing with few others which will commence operation soon”

“Honourable Members will be surprised to hear that the huge Investments made by Masters Energy in this City run on Private Supply, the entire community has been off the National Grid for about 10years Now”

“Various Roads to the Industrial City Are in Deplorable Conditions, water is not within reach in this Locality. We spend so much to Produce our own Water”

He revealed that the Company has gotten all approval for Energy Metering including STS Association Of Conformance for Single Phase and theee Face Metering, the Nigerian Electricity Certificate among others.

“So far we currently have 14,000 Customers who use our Meters and the Industry has a functional Plastic Factory that can Produce Meter Box, Meter Cover, Meter Casing”

The Company Called on the Hosue of Representatives to assist them in getting approval for massive Meter distributions as he said the Company has 150,000 Meters already on ground.

The House Committee Toured other facilities in the Company and expressed satisfaction with what they saw.
