Report to State CID Panti on Monday: Police Invite Pastor Chris Okafor Over Multiple Rape Allegations

“Lagos State Police invite Pastor Chris Okafor to report to CID Panti over multiple rape and sexual offence allegations, assuring victims of protection and a transparent investigation.”

The Lagos State Police Command has invited the Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, over allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conducts likely to breach public peace and disrupt law and order in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (DC SCID) to conduct a thorough and discreet investigation into the various criminal allegations leveled against the cleric.

Pastor Okafor has reportedly been served with an official invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, on Monday, where he is to cooperate fully with investigators probing allegations of capital offences and other serious crimes.

The Commissioner of Police also ordered immediate and comprehensive security coverage for the alleged victims, assuring them of adequate protection and encouraging them to freely report at the SCID, Panti, where investigations into the alleged offences have commenced.

Any person or persons who may have fallen victim to the alleged actions of the pastor are implored to come forward and lodge their complaints. Individuals with credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation are also encouraged to come forward without fear or apprehension to assist the police.”

The statement further noted that such persons may reach the SCID through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command or report directly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.

CP Jimoh further assured members of the public that all victims and witnesses would enjoy full protection, adding that the investigation would be conducted in a professional, transparent, and unbiased manner, in strict compliance with the law.

Reaffirming the command’s commitment to its constitutional responsibilities, the Commissioner stated:

“The Lagos State Police Command remains committed to maintaining law and order, public peace, and safety. All allegations of criminal acts against any individual, regardless of status or position, will be thoroughly and discreetly investigated in accordance with the law. No sentiment will be allowed to influence the process.”
