PETER OBI ENDORSEMENT: ”Obasanjo Is An Elder Statesman, Should Not Be Deceitful… Orji Kalu
The Whip of the Senate, Senator (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu has opined that if Obasanjo had wanted an Igbo man to rule, he could have chosen Peter Odili in 2007.
Orji Uzor Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, asserts that the APC can’t win the 2023 presidential election without divine intervention. He added that Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president, is not being honest by endorsing Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, after declining to back Peter Odili, the former governor of Rivers State, in 2007.
He claimed that Obasanjo is a hypocrite and that Peter Odili would have been a better choice if he had wanted an Igbo to lead Nigeria in 2007. Adding that he respects elders and that Obasanjo is a national elder statesman, but an elder should not be dishonest.
According to him, “let me tell you, when Obasanjo was president, he stopped Peter Odili.” If he wanted an Igbo man to be president, he could have chosen Peter Odili, but he killed that dream. “I respect elders; he’s an elder statesman of this country, but the elder should not be deceitful.”
