LP Candidate, Mgbeahuru Pledges Sustainable Peace, Security

The Labour Party Candidate for Osisioma Ngwa North State Constituency, HON. Iheyinna Ositadinma Benjamin Mgbeahuru has reiterated his commitment towards maintaining peace and security within his constituency.

Mgbeahuru made this pledge during a courtesy call at the palace of His Royal Highness Eze Chigozie Court, Iyi 2 of Iyi-Ukwu autonomous community, in Ososioma.

He pointed out that maintenance of peace and security remained the bedrock for any sustainable development.

The Labour Candidate who was a former Executive Chairman of Ososioma Local Government Area of Abia State, recounted on the major feat his administration had achieved, hence mitigating against the controversies and rancor which according to him was the order of the day.

He recalled the manifold wisdom as demonstrated by the administration thereby installing traditional rulers who helped in restoring a peaceful coexistence among various communities in the Council.

Hear him: “It was during my tenure as the Executive Chairman Osisioma Ngwa L.G.A that we gave an ultimatum to all communities without an Eze to present an Eze- elect to the Local Government to be forwarded to the state government for the the installation of Eze’s in those communities inorder to reduce inter communal conflicts which was the norm during that time.

“It’s also important to note that it was during this time that His Royal Highness Eze Chigozie Court, the Iyi 2 of IyiUkwu Autonomous Community was installed as the King of this Community.”

The Labour Party Candidate who outlined that the major problem of Nigeria today asides the economic relapse was security, however, expressed confidence in the party’s leader and presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, as well as Chief Alex Otti, Governorship candidate in Abia State, whom he said were committed to ending insecurity in Nigeria once elected.

The former Executive Chairman Osisioma Ngwa L.G.A also highlighted some other projects which he sited in Iyi-Ukwu autonomous community during his tenure, ranging from Borehole drilling, attracting Agro based Investors to the community among others”, while promising to do more when elected.

The Eze who was ably represented by the traditional prime minister, Chief Joseph C. Nwamadi thanked Hon. Iheyinna Mgbeahuru and his team for coming and assured them that IyiUkwu Autonomous Community was only for Labour Party.

In his response, the palace Chairman, Chief Morrison Anucha, in his elated mood, explained that the coming of Labour party “is a symbol of hope for the common man. I say this because we are tired of being ruled by tyrants”, he said, as he applauded Mgbeahuru, stating emphatically that his antecedents will speak for him.
