NRM unveils Uwaezuoke for Orlu Senate seat

Immediate past National President of Orlu Regional Assembly, Political Action Committee, USA (ORAPAC/USA), Chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke has emerged the candidate for Imo West Senatorial (Orlu Zone) seat on the platform of National Rescue Movement (NRM).

His emergence, it was gathered, has sent cold shivers down the spines of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties camps in the zone and Imo State at large.

During the unveiling of Uwaezuoke by his party, NRM in Owerri, Tuesday, the Eziachi Orlu LGA born politician informed, the mammoth crowd that his desire to contest for the Senate of Orlu zone was to “change the change”, having noticed that those who have declared before now don’t have any genuine interest to give the district the effective and qualitative representation we needed.

“It is unfortunate that those jostling to represent us at the Senate do not have our interests at hearts.

“Their only interest is the paraphernalia of the office and they have no clear vision of what to do at the Senate and for this, they cannot give us the needed representation yearned for by the electorate at the senate.

“Our zone has been under developed since the return of democracy in Nigeria and that has necessitated my desire to run for the office of the senate to represent the good people of Orlu zone”, Uwaezuoke, who emerged as the consensus candidate of his party opined.

Addressing newsmen at the event, the Imo State Chairman of National Rescue Movement (NRM) , Hon. Chikwe Nwachukwu, noted, his party was poised to take over all the political offices in the state at all levels, adding, that his party would spring up surprises during the next general elections due to the calibre of candidates that emerged in their party for all elective positions at all levels.

“We are here to change the old order where everything goes. Today, we just unveiled the senatorial candidate of our great party, Chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke.

“Political stakeholders from across the twelve local government areas in Orlu zone are here, irrespective of political party’s affliations just to show solidarity and support to the candidature of Chief Uwaezuoke”, the ebullient chairman revealed.

Furthermore, Mr. Nwachukwu, informed, “National Rescue Movement is an emerging political party with a very acceptable and all -encompassing manifesto. It is a movement determined to rescue the electorate from the dark and desolate valley of failed governance in our state and nation at large.”

“We will soon embark on ward to ward tours to sell our manifesto to the electorate and I wish to use this medium to inform the public that the logo of our party is a big Bee, which means that our party is flying to victory with people of good character and goodwills whose antecedents will politically subdue all oppositions to victory come 2023″, Nwachukwu concluded.

Kingsley Ikebudu, Ph.D, the Director General of Chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke Campaign Organisation, expressed happiness over the turnout of party members and supporters of Chief Uwaezuoke at the event, pointing out that, ” the quality of people at this unveiling is a sign of good things to come”.

“The ability of members to attend this event irrespective of their tight schedules and short notices are pointers that our Principal, Chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke would get overwhelming victory at the main election come 2023”.

Comrade Dynamic Uzoahia,RDN, who is the Board of Trustees(BOTs), Chairman, Orluzurumee Youths, the Youth wing of Orluzurumee Cultural Union, noted, “the emergence of Chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke would close the gap of bad representation in our zone. We all are encouraged to support this project, because it is a divine project aimed at emancipating the people of Orlu zone”.

Mr. Chidiebere Okeke, the Coordinator of Orlu Zone Mandate for Chief Stephen CY Uwaezuoke, (OMCSCYU) alongside with his Assistant Secretary, Chinenye Dennis stated, they are poised to make sure, that Chief Uwaezuoke emerged as the next Senator representing Orlu zone beginning from 2023.

Chief Uwaezuoke, who has been a strong advocate of good governance, pledged to use his wealth of experience to bring peace and sanity in Orlu zone, just as he said, he would tackle poverty, through creation of jobs, pointing out, he would achieve that by positively engaging the young ones with employment offers and providing them with necessary empowerment packages alongside learning of skills and accessment of grants.

Chief Uwaezuoke, further said, he would not neglect to use his position to improve the educational and agricultural systems of the zone and Imo State in general, which according to him would bring about the economic advancement of the zone through bills and motions at the red chambers, even as he stated that, accountability and good character would be his slogan if elected.
