News Break: “There Was No Resolution To Change Abia Deputy Speaker ” – Chukwu, Ukoha, Others Debunk Reports

Following the extant crisis at the Abia State House of Assembly by the Speaker and the subsequent peaceful resolution of same by the Speaker, , the Minority Leader of the State Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, Hon. Mike Ukoha, Hon. Aaron Uzodike and other Law Makers have unanimously insisted that most of the statements flying round the media space does not reflect the agreement the house reached during a reconciliatory meeting.

This is even as they blatantly maintained their disagreement with some statements making round the news which declared Hon. Mandela Obasi as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Hon. Chukwu confirmed that members of the house from the two divide had met to resolve the crisis at the state house of assembly and noted that agreement was that everyone SHOULD return to status quo in their next sitting tomorrow being May 26th, 2023.

In his words, “If we are sincere about a peaceful resolution of the house, it means that EVERYONE must return to status quo as agreed and that means that Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu remains the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Hon. Mandela Obasi cannot be the Deputy Speaker when the authentic Deputy Speaker is there” he said.
