Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Forum Passes Vote of Confidence on Tinubu

Ndigbo Progressive Traditional Rulers Forum in its entirety has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Chairman of the forum, HRM Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu, Oroko Abia, amidst intense gratitude, lauded the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, outlining the landmark achievements of the project in economic revitalization, social welfare, security, and national development.

The renowned traditional ruler gave this remark Sunday, June 1, during the official inauguration of not fewer than 20,000 new members of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), held at Bende, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The Chairman used the medium to commend Tinubu over the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), saying “it’s a long-awaited initiative that marks a new era of inclusion and progress for the region.

According to the chairman of the forum, the administration has been able to unify the FX market, reduced arbitrage, and boosted investor confidence, adding that Nigeria’s trade surplus attained #3.42 trillion ($2.25 billion) in the Q4 2024, driven by increased exports.

Describing the agenda as a comprehensive blueprint for Nigeria’s progress and not just a slogan, he highlighted that since the assumption of office by the present administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of Tinubu, on May 29, 2023, “President Tinubu’s administration has implemented bold reforms and policies that are already reshaping Nigeria’s future.

Continuing, he said: “The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan; it is a comprehensive blueprint for economic revitalisation, social welfare, security, and national development.

He asserted that fuel subsidy removal had aided in accelerating government revenues to over N9.1 trillion in the first half of 2024 unlike the previous year.

Hear him:
“The removal of fuel subsidies has freed up resources for critical sectors,
resulting in a 50% reduction in petrol importation and a doubling of government revenues to over N9.1 trillion in the first half of 2024 compared
to the previous year.

“The unification of the FX market has reduced arbitrage, increased
transparency, and boosted investor confidence. Nigeria’s economy
recorded a 3.84% GDP growth in Q4 2024, with annual growth rising to
3.40% in 2024 from 2.74% in 2023.
Through targeted interventions, inflation has dropped from 34.6% to
23.71% by May 2025, with food prices for staples like rice, maize, and
sorghum declining by over 25% in the first quarter of 2025.

Speaking further, Eze Ofoegbu reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria had recorded notable achievements, among which is a 3.84% GDP growth in the Q4 2024, with annual growth rising to 3.40% in 2024 from 2.74% in 2023.

This is even as he recounted that the menacing effect of inflation had dropped from 34.6% to 23.71% by May 2025, with food prices thereby falling off by over 25% in the first quarter of 2025.

The highlight of the epoch making event was the bestowment of a historic award on the President who was represented by the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, an award which according to him, signified love and unity.
