Mao Ohuabunwa Fingered in Activities of Arochukwu Notorious Criminal Gang Arrested by Police

 

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department, (CID) Umuahia has detained four notorious criminals who specializes in robbing and causing mayhem in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state.

The four criminals led by its leader popularly known as George Onwumere Uloh aka Amani were first arrested by a team of police officers from Arochukwu command on Monday before handing over to the CID Umuahia on Wednesday.

 

The DPO in Arochukwu revealed that at the arrest of the members and detention, the gang leader escaped through the ceiling. Items recovered from the gang are yet to be disclosed

 

Meanwhile, report has it that Arochukwu stakeholders have earlier petitioned the police about the activities of the gang.

 

It was reported that the gang were foolishly bold in their criminal act that they also robbed churches and kidnapped any opposition voice.

One of the members on interrogation confessed that they have the backing of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who recruited them ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

 

The gang, according to the DPO was indeed dangerous. While these four criminals have been arrested, George and other members of the gang were still on the run but police hinted that those on the run would soon be apprehended as security operatives were closing in on them.
