LSSTF Strengthens Airport Security with Patrol Vehicle Donation to NDLEA

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has reinforced Nigeria’s fight against drug trafficking with the donation of an operational vehicle to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Airport Command, a move aimed at strengthening security at the nation’s major air gateways.

The intervention forms part of LSSTF’s sustained support for security and law enforcement agencies operating across Lagos State, particularly those at the frontline of crime prevention and enforcement.

The vehicle was formally presented by the Director of Administration of LSSTF, Mr. Degbola Lewis, on behalf of the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan. It was received by the Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA Airport Command, CN Akinleye Oluwafunmilayo Peter, alongside senior officers of the Command.

Speaking during the handover, Mr. Lewis reaffirmed LSSTF’s commitment to enhancing logistics, mobility, and operational readiness for security agencies. He emphasized that adequate and modern operational tools are critical for effective surveillance, swift response, and efficient law enforcement, especially in sensitive locations such as airports.

In her response, CN Akinleye expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, describing the donation as timely and impactful. She noted that the vehicle would significantly improve the NDLEA Airport Command’s operational efficiency in safeguarding airports and disrupting illicit drug trafficking networks.

The donation underscores LSSTF’s strategic role in supporting inter-agency collaboration and strengthening security infrastructure across Lagos State.
