JUST IN: Tinubu renames popular Nigerian University after Buhari
President Bola Tinubu has renamed the renowned University of Maiduguri to Muhammadu Buhari University.
President Tinubu made the announcement of the renaming of the University, today, July 17, 2025, the special Federal Executive Council meeting organised in honour of the late former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari died at a London Hospital on Sunday at the age of 82.
He was buried in his private residence on Tuesday, July 15, with his family, friends, political associates and dignitaries in attendance.
