The National Assembly has suspended all legislative activities until July 22, 2025, to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The leadership of the National Assembly has suspended all legislative activities until Tuesday 22nd July, 2025, as a mark of honour to Nigeria’s late ex-President, Mohammadu Buhari.

Buhari died in a London clinic from an undisclosed ailment on Sunday.
In a statement on Monday, Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana said he has been directed by both the President of the Senate , Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker of the House of representatives, Tajudeen Abbas to announce the suspension of all legislative activities.
Ogunlana said the move is to pay maximum respect to the late former President and enable members participate fully in the burial activities.
According to the Clerk, Buhari will be remembered for his commitment to Nigeria’s unity and his integrity.
