INEC CVR 2026: APC Launches Massive Voter Registration Drive

“A major political mobilisation effort has been launched ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) final phase of the “Continuous Voter Registration (CVR)” exercise, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) moves to ensure massive citizen participation across all Local Government Areas (LGAs). With the 2026 electoral cycle drawing closer, party leaders are intensifying grassroots engagement to prevent voter exclusion and strengthen democratic participation nationwide.”

“The INEC CVR 2026 exercise is a nationwide voter registration programme aimed at ensuring that eligible Nigerians can register, update their details, transfer polling units, or replace lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Political parties, including the APC, are currently mobilising across LGAs to encourage maximum participation, strengthen democratic inclusion, and improve voter turnout ahead of future elections.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified nationwide mobilisation efforts following the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the resumption of the final phase of the “Continuous Voter Registration (CVR)” exercise, scheduled to run from Monday, 11th May to Friday, 10th July 2026.

In a directive issued to Local Government (LG) Coordinators, party leadership called for a renewed and highly strategic mobilisation drive across all LGAs, aimed at ensuring that no eligible citizen is excluded from the electoral process.

According to the statement, the CVR exercise is not merely administrative; rather, it is described as a foundational pillar of democratic participation and civic expression.

It enables citizens to actively shape governance outcomes through informed electoral choices.

The party noted that the ongoing democratic gains under the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside legislative representation at both national and state levels, must be reinforced through increased voter participation.

Consequently, LG coordinators have been urged to extend mobilisation efforts beyond traditional political spaces into communities, markets, youth groups, and professional associations. The goal, it stated, is to ensure that citizens are not only registered but also fully aware of the importance of their participation in strengthening democracy.

Furthermore, emphasis was placed on structured grassroots engagement, with ward-level coordination expected to play a central role. Consistent messaging, visible coordination, and sustained outreach were highlighted as essential components of the mobilisation strategy.

Party officials were also instructed to encourage eligible citizens to take full advantage of the CVR window to:
Register for the first time
Transfer polling units
Correct personal details
Replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)
It was stressed that no supporter or potential voter should be left out due to lack of information or access to guidance.

The statement concluded by reaffirming confidence in the capacity of LG coordinators to deliver on the mandate, while calling for unity of purpose and collective responsibility. Broader participation, it noted, strengthens both party structures and the democratic process, ensuring that governance remains people-driven and inclusive.
