IMO 2023: Tension As Gunmen Torch INEC REC’s Home in Enugu State

Reports filtering in from Enugu State has it that the country home of Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Mrs Syvia Agu in Udi LGA of Enugu State has been attacked by yet to be identified hoodlums.

The attack, according to sources, is coming on the heels of alarm raised by civil societies who alleged that the INEC REC has plotted to rig the Imo state election in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in Imo State.

Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in a signed statement, had also threatened to deal with INEC staff if they compromise the results in favour of Gov. Hope Uzodimma.

In the statements, names, home addresses and phone numbers of some INEC staff were released to the public as they threatened to attack the staff of INEC if they rig the election along with their families.

In a video released, the attackers claimed that they have all the details of the Imo REC and will attack her family if the Imo election is rigged.

They however, did not state who they are supporting in the election.
