Ikwuano Deputy Mayor Awuwa: Round peg in Round Hole, says Emma Nwaka
… Says Awuwa is humility personified
By Charity Uwakwe
A prominent son of Itunta-Ibere, in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, Hon. Emma Nwaka has commended the emergence of the Deputy Mayor of the Council, Hon. Lucky Awuwa, saying it is apt and well deserved.
The prominent son of Ikwuano made this remark Sunday, at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Iberenta, in Ikwuano LGA, during the Thanksgiving Service of the newly elected Deputy Mayor of the Council, Hon. Awuwa, describing him as “humility personified”.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Famous Reporters, the erudite scholar, amidst ecstasy, congratulated Awuwa, while urging him to fasten his belts to drive the affairs of the entire council in collaboration with his superior, the Mayor
of the Council, Dr. Anthony Nwaubani.
“We’re here to celebrate one of our brothers who was our student. I taught Lucky during my days as a lecturer. So, Lucky was my student and a very bright one. And that’s why we’ve come here today to rejoice with him as the newly elected Deputy Mayor.”

The renowned former Lecturer at one of the prestigious Universities of Nigeria who enjoined other youths to emulate the loyal and humble attributes of Awuwa, envisaged greater heights for the latter, urging him to remain resolute and unyielding amidst the storms.

He assured the Deputy Mayor that his humility and loyalty would in no doubt pave the way for landmark achievements that would skyrocket him to enviable heights in a fraction of the time.
“Like I told them during the church service, Lucky as a student was humility personified. In everything you talk about Lucky, Lucky is a very humble person. I don’t know his age but I’m very sure that he’s somebody that respects everybody. And I am certain that he will move further than this; this is not going to be the end of Lucky’s position in Ikwuano and Abia State. He’s going to cross this place and I trust that he’ll do well.”
“Yes, his election is very apt and deserved. It’s putting ‘a round peg in a round hole’ “
The illustrious son of Ibere who contested in the 2019 general election for the State Assembly but was reportedly robbed of his mandate, recounted his ordeal in the face of the awful incident, but, however, expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty for the turn out of events.
He reiterated that the ill-fated incident which accompanied the 2019 election following alleged irregularities and betrayal, was responsible for the tremendous progress and success evident in his life, as he glorified the name of the Lord.
“I contested an election in 2019 for the State House of Assembly but it was rigged. But, finally, today I’m a better person so everybody should emulate that lifestyle because life does not start nor end up with politics.
Asked how devastated he felt consequent on the said 2019 mandate which he was robbed of, he said:
“I did not lose; I won but it was rigged. I felt devastated then but one thing that kept me moving was the fact that there’s somebody in heaven, God and once there’s God, everything is possible. I believe that God allowed that incident to take place in order for me to be who I am today.

“I am a happy man; even though I was already married then but today, my family is happier than ever. God just wanted it like that.
Moreso, he used the medium to applaud the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, stressing that he is prudent in his policies and choices of calibers of personalities when reeling out appointments.
“So far so good, the Governor is doing fine. His appointment is good, he understands the system and is using the right people.
So, what I’ll only tell the Governor is that he should keep it up.
Furthermore, Emma Nwaka advised Ikwuano youths on the need for thorough commitment and dedication to their various lives’ endeavours.
He admonished the youths to aspire to attain and accomplish greater feats other than depending solely on politics.
“My advice for Ikwuano youths is that everyone should be dedicated to whatever they do. Everything is not politics; there is time for politics and there’s for work.
Adding, he said: “Lucky is there today and it will be the turn of another person tomorrow. So, go and work. Everybody needs to work, whether you’re in politics or not, work and work.”.
This is even as it is evident that most of the present day’s youths have relegated hard work and self-actualisation to the background, as they merely focus on politics and remain dependent on crumbs that fall off from their pay masters’ tables.

Meanwhile, the highlight of the church session was the moment of high praise and dancing, as well as the donation of a whooping sum of money to the Church board, by the erudite scholar, alongside the member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon. (Engr.) Boniface Isienyi, in support of her 16 Million naira worth project.
