Igboayaka’s Vs Nwifuru:  OYC Extols Ikenga Imo, Other Representatives

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), the apex sociocultural Youth Organization of Igbo worldwide, has poured encomiums on members of the Federal House of Representatives for their rapid response to the protracted unlawful abduction and incarceration of its National President, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka.

According to OYC, their leader, Igboayaka was illegally abducted by the Anti Kidnapping Unit of Ebonyi State Police Command on Saturday 8 February, 2025 in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, shortly after his reelection for second term as President of Ohanaeze Youth Council.

“The Council noted that on 8 February at about 7:30pm, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka was abducted at Owerri by the Anti Kidnapping Unit of Ebonyi State Police Command, the OYC President was harassed, tortured, and intimidated write statement under duress by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of Ebonyi State Police Police Headquarters. Following the deteriorating health condition of Comrade Igboayaka, he was clandestinely arraigned at Abakalikii Magistrate Court 2 on 12th February 2025 at about 4:00pm, where he is being remanded in custody at Abakalikii Correctional Centre.

“The teeming members and Leadership of Ohanaeze Youth Council OYC hailed and described Honorable Ugochinyere Ikenga Imo, the member representing Ideato North/South federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, as a shining example and eyes for the new generation of Igbo leaders, given his prompt response and presentation of a petition at the National Assembly – House of Representatives after receiving a petition from Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC) signed by Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Nweke Secretary General and Comrade Michael Ukpabi Authority National Publicity Secretary, demanding a probe on the illegal detention and torture of Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka since one month as mastermind by Governor of Ebonyi State, Gov. Francis Nwifuru and the Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State, CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya
