Igboanulam Speaks On Why Nigeria Police Should Work IN HARMONY PCRC

The Abia State Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Chief Iheanyi Igboañulam (Kpakpando Ndigbo Dum), has emphasized the need for the Nigeria Police to have harmonious working relationship with the members of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

The State PCRC Chairman made this assertion in Ndiegoro division, Aba, during his State wide tour of Area Commands and Divisions in the State.

Kpakpando Ndigbo Dum, who was gladly received with his entourage, by the DPO, CSP Franklin Omelu, thanked the DPO for the warm reception accorded him and the State Working Committee, appreciated him for being PCRC friendly, as well as having fantastic working relationship with members of Ndiegoro PCRC.

During interactive section with members of Ndiegoro division, to assertain their progress and challenges, members gave good progress report of their activities in the division, but however regretted the unfriendly and ill treatment being melted to them by some men of the Nigeria Police Force, especially, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

It would be recalled that the State Chairman recorded same complaints in most of the divisions he has so far visited.

Responding to their report, the State PCRC boss advised members of PCRC to always be on the right side of law in all their dealings with Police, but however regretted the ill treatment of his members, by some men of the Nigeria Police Force, especially the Rapid Response Squad and the rank and file. He enjoins the Police to always see PCRC members as partners in service.

Chief Igboañulam reiterated that PCRC is a community policing based organization, the N0 1 partners of Police and the baby of the Police, formed by the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, in 1984, with the core mandate of building harmonious working relationship and partnership between to the Nigerian communities and the Nigeria Police, with a view to enhancing efficient and effective policing of the Nigerian communities.

He went further to say that this is 40th anniversary of PCRC, representing 40 years of excellent community policing, 40 years of infrastrutural provisions, 40 years of unbridled assistance and 40 years of superb image making for the Police etc.

He also declared that his message and mission statement is “Operation one Area Command/Division, one project” for Abia State Police Command.

The State PCRC boss, while thanking and appreciating the Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikechukwu Onwuemelie, for his love for Abia State PCRC Command and his full compliment of support and approval of Police protection for his State wide tour, appealed to him to kindly address the issue of ill treatment being melted to members of Abia State PCRC, by some men of the Abia State Police Command.
