Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on Thursday warned that his administration would no longer tolerate protests that could result in a breach of peace in the state.

Uzodinma gave this order  members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) held a solidarity rally for him at the Government House in Owerri, the state capital.

Recall that there have been several protests in Imo and other states by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members ever  since the removal of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as governor by the Supreme Court.

The governor reassured Imo citizens that his administration was for peace and service while promising the special citizens in the state that his administration would not give room for their marginalisation, whatsoever.

Responding, State NURTW chairman, Comrade Izuchukwu Okebaram, and his JONAPWD counterpart, Bright Ikechukwu Uzoma, said they came to express their solidarity with the governor over his victory at the Supreme Court, describing it as an act of God and a bold step by the judiciary in justice delivery.

Meanwhile, governor Uzodinma has extended the tenure of investigative panels and commissions of inquiry set up by the Ihedioha administration.

He extended their tenures based on the committees’ request, pointing out that government is a continuum, even as he informed that he would not engage in witch-hunt but would continue with the good programmes inherited from his successor.
