Father, Kamoru Ojo Allegedly Beats Daughter To Death, Buries Her In Shallow Grave

A man identified as Kamoru Ojo has been arrested by the Lagos State Police for allegedly beating his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat, to death at their residence in the Ojo area.

The tragic incident unfolded on Thursday, April 3, 2025, when an argument between Ojo and Shakirat escalated into physical violence. Reports indicate that during the beating, Shakirat lost consciousness and tragically died.

In a bid to conceal his crime, Ojo reportedly dug a shallow grave in their compound and buried his daughter’s body. The discovery of the crime came when Shakirat was reported missing, prompting authorities to launch an investigation.

After a missing person report was filed at the Okokomaiko Division of the Lagos State Police Command, homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene. The detectives later uncovered Shakirat’s remains buried on the property.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State, confirmed Ojo’s arrest and stated that the body has been exhumed for an autopsy at a public morgue. The investigation into the case is still ongoing as authorities seek to understand the full circumstances surrounding Shakirat’s death.
